Decorative planters and flower pots

I love unusual and handsome planters not only for impressions dealt for neighbors, but for what attractive pieces of outdoor furniture they are. You may not have an acre to plant in flowers in your garden, but can get same effect by growing plants in pots in your patio, balcony or on your deck.

Absolutely everything can be used in your garden as a planter using imagination and recycled items: old caners, bathtubs, car tires, old boots or tool boxes, rusty bird cage or coffee cans, carved pumpkins or unusual finds at any garage sale will work.

Adding the right flower arrangement is the key.

I like wood planters because of their natural look. With natural wood grain, painted with waterproof glue or colored art motifs, wooden planters will compliment bright flowers. I love also to plant flowers in old logs that have unusual shape, in drilled holes or natural ridges on the surface or in carved wood with motifs inspired from nature - it give me an artistic feel.

I like also standard flower wood boxes. These planters comes in a large variety of shapes and sizes, most of them being hard to manage and move to best capture sunlight outdoor, being attached to bench, attics or wagons.

Not only wooden planters are beautiful and durable. There are metal planters, large fer-forge powder-coated, hanged or multi-tiers, mixed with rattan, coco liner or bamboo. These architectural planters are most durable outdoor and are suitable to be coordinated alongside the stairs and the walls or to decorate thematic gardens

Planters are vary accordingly with the needs. Sometimes I used plastic nursery pots for small plants. A series of large stone planters fit wide open spaces, and planters fixed in the soil as a lamp fit landscapes built with brick stones.

Mural planters from stone and terracotta planters unglazed add a classic note to your garden, and raised bed planters from cedar wood, bamboo, iron have a contemporary look and are used to maximize the efficiency in fertilization and water conservation and to minimize chemical contamination. Also wall-containers and self-watering planters fixed to fences or hanging baskets are a good choice for plants that need to maximize the watering and the space.

Rock-planters made from naturals or faux stone, mosaics and concrete create an overall concept of natural landscape.

Bonsai pots and exotic planters decorated with Japanese writing or Chinese art motifs bring an Asian accent for any home. Porcelain lacquered and hand painted flower pots or handcrafted ceramic pots are wonderful decorative accessories for any room.

Wonderful examples of planters; something for everyone. I love the look they can create in a small space. I confess though, that I never seem to do as well with potted plants. Not sure why.....
